San Buenaventura Urology Physicians Honored for Exemplary Care as UroLife Center of Excellence
San Buenaventura Urology has been designated as a “UroLift Center of Excellence.” This designation recognizes that San Buenaventura Urology physicians Dr. Marc Beaghler and Dr. Seyed Khoddami have demonstrated a commitment to exemplary care for men suffering from urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and that the physicians have achieved a high level of training and experience with the UroLift System.
Dr.’s Beaghler and Khoddami celebrated with their entire San Buenaventura Urology team at a Center of Excellence ribbon cutting event held at their practice in late February.
“This is truly a team effort, ” said Dr. Khoddami, addressing the crowd at the event. “Thank you all for everything you do for our patients, and the support your provide to myself and Dr. Beaghler.”
San Buenaventura Urology is one of only four practices in the United States with two physicians within the same practice who have earned this distinction.
The UroLift system is a minimally invasive treatment that offers multiple benefits for men with enlarged prostates without cutting, heating, or removing tissue. With the UroLift system, there is minimal downtime, no compromise of sexual function, and no need for continued medications, Dr. Beaghler said. “UroLift has fundamentally changed how we treat patients suffering bothersome BPH symptoms,” he said.
“We are proud to be national leaders in treating patients with this durable and effective treatment, ” Dr. Khoddami said.
Nearly 40 million men in the U.S. are affected by BPH. This condition occurs as the prostate gland that surrounds the male urethra becomes enlarged, exerting pressure on the urethra and restricting or blocking urine flow. Symptoms of BPH often include interrupted sleep and urinary problems, and can cause loss of productivity, depression, and decreased quality of life.
NeoTract Interventional Urology’s FDA-cleared UroLift system is a novel, minimally invasive technology for treating lower urinary tract symptoms due to BPH. The UroLift permanent implants, delivered during a minimally invasive transurethral outpatient procedure, relieve prostate obstruction and open the urethra directly. Five-year data from a randomized study shows the UroLift System offers rapid improvement for BPH patients with minimal side effects.
