CMH Auxiliary Celebrates Volunteer Service Milestones at Annual Luncheon

The Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary hosted its annual meeting and awards luncheon on Friday February 2nd.  Founded on a tradition of service, the Auxiliary is an organization whose mission is to augment the programs and services of Community Memorial Hospital.

Our Auxiliary volunteers are men, women, and students from varied backgrounds who share a common interest in helping others and providing comfort and assistance to patients and their families.  They donate their time and talent in many areas of the hospital, and their contributions, far-reaching and diverse, are vital for the efficient care of our patients and our guests.  At this year’s luncheon, the Auxiliary honored members for various service achievements.  “Hours Awards” were handed out to volunteers who reached milestones ranging from 100 to 22,000 volunteer hours.

“Service Awards” were presented to volunteers who have devoted a significant number of years to the CMH Auxiliary.  Among those honored were Dick Eckstrom, Connie Ferritto, Marjo Gardner, Vivian Mould, Lupe Vasquez, and Ann Warnagieris for 20 years of service.  Judith Eldeb was honored for 30 years of service, and Pat Utter received recognition for 45 years of dedication to CMHS.  This year, the award for longest tenure as a volunteer went to Genevieve Basso who was recognized for 50 years as a member of the CMH team!

Completing the Dream

This year’s luncheon also included a very special check presentation as the CMH Auxiliary presented its collective contribution of $90,000 to the BECAUSE CAMPAIGN, helping to Complete the Dream of a NEW Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura.

Please join us in thanking the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for their dedication and service to our hospital, our patients, and our community as a whole.  The contribution of each and every member plays a vital role in the care we provide every day, and we couldn’t do it without them!
